Event types
Read the format before the date. It tells you where the event is sold, how early to act, and whether you can simply walk in.

Several days, numbered flights, a published blind structure and a seat cap. Registration opens well ahead and closes when the room is full. If a calendar entry has a structure sheet attached, this is what you are looking at.

A ticketed night with a dress code, usually dinner, and open tables for a set stretch of the evening. The format most likely to appear on a ticketing service and the most likely to sell out.

Single-evening competitions in short rounds. Rules are read out before each round, so prior experience is not needed. Late entry is often possible if seats remain.

Weekly or monthly, in a side room, with a modest buy-in and a fixed number of hands per round. The gentlest way into competitive play at a casino.

Themed evenings built around new machines, usually with prize draws through the night. No registration and no seat cap — arrive when you like.

A function room, reserved tables, a host and an agreed number of hours. Arranged with the venue's events team and quoted rather than ticketed.
